ESSENTIAL MUSIC THEORY FOR ELECTRIC BASS
Essential Music Theory For Electric Bass is has served as a supplemental text at the University of North Texas, the University of Texas at Arlington, and the Dallas County Community College District.
Jewel Publications presents the release of Essential Music Theory For Electric Bass. The book includes intervals, scales, chords, harmonized scales, and other essential concepts. Examples are shown in one octave form so the bassist may fully understand each concept before commencing to playing all over the neck. An entire page of examples is devoted to each chord, scale, and interval. Each example is shown in standard tablature, standard staff notation, structure and fingering graphs, alternate fingerings, and symbol charts. With only a minimal amount of text, concepts are thoroughly explained, and there are hundreds of charts and graphs.
Each chapter has an extensive review section which tests the player in pattern recognition on the neck, correct spellings, staff notation, and symbol notation. Most review sections are three or more pages long, and answers are given in the back of the text. A final test is also offered in the back of the book, and readers may send in their answers for personal grading by the author.
