I don't know of any offhand, but I'd suggest you contact a couple luthiers in your area -- everybody has to get their basses fixed, and a local luthier may be a great source of a referral to some prospects.

Check my Luthiers Directory, link below. There is one listed in Richmond, and I know Bob's House of Basses is in the DC area, check under all the applicable states.

Good luck with your new bass!! And you are very wise to seek out a teacher to get started with good habits and a background with the fundamentals.
