: I'm looking for an upright that'll last me a while...... i wanted to know your opinion of Bob Gollihur's bass.... i'm basically going to use it for jazz but a little classical.... well anyway, what do you think of it? is there anything else you'll recommend? and what kind of strings should i have set up on it?
: thanks

I don't have any experience of the Bulgarian basses that Bob imports but if you want a good deal on a bass it's always worth checking out Lemur Music (they have a website) as they ALWAYS have good basses and their prices are really unbeatable!
For example Ican buy Thomastik strings from them for about 1/2
the price that they are here in the U.K . As for a good bass Ibought a Michael Glas bass about 4 years ago and it's the best bass I've ever played.I use a Barbera pickup and Thomastik Dominant strings via a
Acoustic Image Contra amp with a modified powered extension cab.
