Hi all! I got a question especially for those in NJ? I've found a 1950s Kay in the classifieds for $1500. The owner says it's in very good cosmetic shape-the pictures look quite nice too, not beat up looking as far as I can see. He said that there have been no repairs- except a neck reset and a new bridge. Isn't a neck reset a huge repair though?!?! I asssume he's meaning there have been no repairs on the top and back. Anyway, I inquired who did it and they said a local luthier by the name of Ernie Triompho in Buena, NJ. Does anyone have any experience with this luthier? How can I tell a good neck reset vs. a shabby one? Thanks for reading.
