: : I'M IN A REMOTE LOCATION WHERE I CAN'T GET A TEACHER TO TEACH ME HOW TO PLAY THE ACOUSTIC BASS GUITAR. IS THERE ANY MATERIAL I.E BOOKS AND VIDEOTAPES AND WEBSITES THAT CAN GET ME GOING, STARTING FROM THE VERY BASICS TO ADVANCED LEVEL. I HAVE A BIAS FOR JAZZ. PLEASE RESPONDE BY SENDING A MAIL TO MY E-MAIL ADDRESS. THANKS.

: A wonderful book by Chuck Sher entitled "the Improvisors Bass Method" is available for Jamey Aebersold (jajazz.com) that covers almost everything for all stages of acoustic and electric bassists.

I recommend the old standby, "The Evolving Bassist" by Rufus Reid.
