I recently purchased a 3/4 Strunal 5/20 (carved top, laminate sides and back with veneer) from The Woodwind Brasswind. They had it drop-shipped directly from Strunal America. I had done some investigating on this bass before I purchased, and received consistently good reports (on it, and on Strunal in general). My only complaint about this instrument is that it needed a bridge/soundpost replacement. However, after these modifications (by a qualified Luthier) the bass has a great sound and is a joy to play. My instructor says it sounds and plays every bit as good as basses in the $3,000 to $4,000 range. Hope this is helpful.
