: Bob...Ive been reading this board for a long time and you are the man with the advice I need...first, Ive got an old 1939 Kay Swingmaster and it looks about as good as Willie Nelson's acoustic guitar but i love the sound and feel and its my baby...but it needs to be reglued on the g side seam at the bottom curve...dont know the technicl term...I was wondering what the best way to do this is quickly, nobody in my town is experienced enough to do it and im in a time crunch, looks are not a problem so it can look like crap as long as it is fixed, second I need guts, ive had some on order at lemur for over two months and im about to go back out so i need new ones and i was wondering if you had any leads to other online shops where i can get some quickly and pay with a credit card.......any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hit the local hardware store or chain for a bottle of hide glue; the premixed (and especially if it's been long on the shelf) stuff isn't the best and will soften in high heat and humidity, but at least it can be softened by a pro when it comes time for a permanent repair by a pro. Never use a regular old wood glue on your bass!
www.quinnviolin.com would be a place I'd check for good string prices. Email to confirm stock is available.
