: I will be reglueing my fingerboard on my upright bass. It is already to go. I just need to know if the hide glue should be full strenght or do I thin it a bit. also what is the proper temperature for the glue. I have read that it is around 140`f ....

Have you got the right clamps for regluing a fingerboard ? - if not take it to a luthier who works on basses ( some don't ! ). Advantages to this are if HE makes a mistake then HE HAS TO CORRECT it whereas if you do it yourself and YOU make a mistake ,well bud, it's down to you.
Also if it does fall off within a reasonable amount of time he ill always reglue it for you !
For a good luthier ask local bassists or check out Bobs Luthiers Directory on www.gollihur.com
Good luck,
Andy.
