I wish to point out that the two previous replies to this gentleman's quest for professional consultations on the ways and hows of approaching this most noble of all instruments are in bad taste and should be removed from this forum.
Are we not here to guide and be guided? To provide warm, caring, compassionate, enthusiastic guidance to our up and coming generation of young bassists? We don't need the sort of gauche, foozled, crude, ill-considered and perfunctory remarks of the Rizzos and Gladis' types to foul our noble and distinguished forum.
Having said that, I would recommend cutting the top off of it and use it as a planter. It would make a good conversation piece on your front lawn, and might attract babes. Follow this up with an apprenticeship in small appliance repair.
