My experience has been very different than Chris'. I've been using them for several
months, having switched from Pirastro Oliv. It took a couple of days to get used
to the way they respond to the bow, but I don't have any problems. The only deficiency
I've found in the arco response is on the A and E strings is difficult to get the
a good fundamental pitch at fast tempos, like anything faster than 8th notes at
quarter note is 200. You really have to play them more on-the-string. Jazz pizz
on the Animas is much better than with Olivs, especially the A and E strings. And
on my bass the Animas are more colorful.

Eudoxas are different too. I haven't had them on my bass, but I've played them on
another. They are much brighter then both the Animas and the Olivs; very bright. The
tension is about the same as the Animas, but the string guages are like the guages
of steel strings. They're very skinny.
