did you even read my previous post? I said I played at the H. Bowl as an orchestral bassist...I guess I wouldn't have gotten there if I wasn't able to use the bow ;-)
By the way, I was referring to the lack of sustain when playing gut **pizzicato** style...Maybe I didn't understand your point, but I don't think that being able to play with the bow helps you get a more sustained note when *plucking* gut strings...unless you further elaborate on this matter and prove me wrong.
