: ......Walter Woods amp stolen from my car last nite....(caught the a-holes just as they were loading my stuff into their gangsta wagon...picture me chasing them down a Boston side street w/ bass in hand...got the plate # but doubt if I`ll get anything back...Learned a valuable lesson re: leaving ANYTHING in car ANYTIME in the city...If you`re not gonna use an amp on a gig then leave it home, stupid!)....Anyway, I`d love to hear ideas on a new amp purchase...350 watts, 2 channels, or ?????...Insurance $ 1,000+.....Probably won`t go the W.W. route this time.....Thanx

: Man,sorry to hear about your lost, the Big City can be unkind when you are just trying to make a living!Good ideas so far,I might lean towards the new acoustic image 2 channel model [$999.00] as it has a mic channel [what you like to use as much as you can] its very small, and it is well made.I've tried both the Contra and the Clarus and both sound very good, although my 1982 2 channel Woods is hard to beat. You would have to wait 2 to 6 monthes for Walter to make you one.The GK scene is also good {do you still have a 200RB} Bruce Gertz was up for a repair and had his GK combo and told me the GK was used by Gage when he first introduced the Realist at the ISB convention several years ago.It does have a wonderfull 4 band parametric EQ that works great for that pickup.IMHO it is a better sounding amp w.the Realist than the Woods.Of course all the speaker options come into play hear so its a guessing game as you need to decide how loud you need to be at the far extreme[Ala C.Ball Gigs]and what will give you the most authentic sound.Best of luck and give me a buzz if you need any help.
Mark
