: >>>I've heard of several Realist players being very satisfied with the Trinity combo. Matter of taste, I like all mic or all pickup (no blending) and the Trinity wasn't hot enough to be used alone<<<
: I have 2 mics I use sometimes, an EV PL20 that's great if you don't the bulk to haul around. Also have a Sure SM98 which John Clayton used to use, but it uses a heavy, battery eating preamp.
: Do you still have the Trinity mic? Interested in selling it? Does it need a preamp?
Sorry, already sold it. I thought about keeping it to use with my Contra, but I was just so happy with the two Schertler's I knew it would never get out of the drawer. As an interesting aside, I played an outdoor concert recently, and the generator was causing problems with my Acoustic Image shutting itself off fot protection. I threw an SM58 in front of my bass, and several people there commented on how good the bass sound was.
