If you're relying on space available in the overhead, you better hope the train ain't crowded. You also want to think about how you will secure the bass up there, you don't want it sliding back and forth all around and sh*t.
If you're going more than 8 hours distance, maybe think about getting a sleeper car. It's like having a big room for yourself, there's kind of room to keep the bass in there. I guess the other thing you wanna make sure of is that you don't have to respond to the whim of whoever is dealing with your car (you can't bring that in here, it has to go to the luggage car. you need to buy a seat for that.
That'll need to go in back, behind the last seat. No we won't be responsible for anything that happens to it.)That kinda thing.
