Greeting,
I am giving my 9 year old son (Nathan) upright bass lessons but can't find any method books other than the ones that start and stay in 1st position from page 1 to the end. I dug up my old F. Simandl book, but that seems to go in the other direction... too fast, too soon. I'm looking for something in the middle. Nathan is pretty gifted and has a good ear, and I'm afraid he'll become bored with the pace of the books that I picked up. I've considered writing exercises on manuscript, but I'd rather find a good string methods book for the young student. Also, I've rented a 1/4 size bass, and that seems a bit too big for him.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks
George
