: Considering restringing with LaBella Supernil or Deep Talkin Bass-any comments or suggestions?

For me Supernils have only one purpose in life- big boomy bluegrass or old style blues. They're low tension, and their biggest negative is their ribbed surface, looking and feeling like roundwound strings, which prevents successful bowing, can contribute to increased finger noise with some pickups, and can chew soft fingers. I don't want to give the impression that they are all bad, because their sound can be quite suitable for some genres, and they are cheap. But not versatile. My experience with the Deep Talkin' Bass is too long ago for useful comments.
