He really didnt know.... He deadls with everybody in towns old junk and fixes them up. The basses him and his co-owner bought about 20 of them. They are just very generic. He had to file the nut into shape, as well as the bridge. He just said that the company that made them took old Kays, and just copied the sound. I really dont know anything else...

: : : If there is no markings inside the body (have a good look around in there!), and it is an old bass, bring it to a good luthier and they should be able to tell you what country it was built in and an approx. date.
