: : : Is there a difference between a plywood and a laminated bass?
: : : is it possible that a bass can have solid back and sides and a laminated top? isnīt that very strange?
: : Laminated basses and the term of "plywood" used in relation to basses refer to the same thing. You will find "hybrid" basses that have a carved top and a laminated back and sides, rather than the other way around.
: Although there are a couple of Prescotts floating around NYC that have a plywood back by a cat who was doing repairs here in the 40s...
Ed , Jeez - Prescotts with a ply back , what did he think he was doing !!! Mind you they probably weren't worth as much then as they are now and ,by the sound of things , he probably didn't know exactly what he was working on !
