: This is very interesting, thanks steve. Is it somehow possable to apply the elements of the bp-100 pickup without the use of the clips? i am thinking of buying a new pickup, for exactly the reason that the clips really mute the sound, so if i can remove the clips and keep the same pick-up, that'd be great...

I am sure there was a thread on Talkbass recently regarding this issue, and i am sure Bob Gollihur could suggest a method, but i think it involved applying very thin double sided adhesive tape to the elements then fixing them to the bridge.I use a product in the crash repair shop called `Refix` tape made by 3M which may do the job.Take a trip to your local bodyshop and ask for a short length to try.Another method may be to insert the pickup elements into the bridge wings ala K&K or Underwood etc. but not having seen the Fishman in the flesh I couldn`t say if that would work,if they are too slack a wedge made from old sax reeds work well.
