: I have just switched to upright as my main instrument and I just got back from rehearsal tonight. I was pretty dissappionted with the tone of my upright through and underwood pickup and into my Ampeg bass amp.

: I need to improve the situation dramatically. Anyone have any opinions on the realist pickup? and/or amp suggestions.

: Eventually I want to consentrate on bebop Jazz, however, I am playing anything and everything right now in my current band.... ie rock, pop alternative etc.

: My main problem is keeping up with a very loud rock drummer without feedback. I also want to improve the amplified tone of the bass.

: Any suggestions will be very welcome. BTW I have a Musima hybrid bass.

the gage is even darker than the underwood and will not give you enough volume to play loud. Try Bob G's KK Bass Max. A 210 or 410 speaker cabinet is good better than 15s.
