: I need some advice from some of you classical players who make demo tapes for big-time symphonies through their home computer. I am dumping my analog tapes for some of the advantages that digital mediums have to offer. Now, what kind of condenser mics do you guys use to record excerpts? I plan on recording everything dry in my basement with artificial concert hall 'verb added later. Thank you in advance.

I used an Audio Technica AT4047 in the studio the other day- very nice with the acoustic bass- bowed or pizz. Warm low end, smooth high end.
