Thanks Rick, gave me alot to think about! I have read that the same part of the brain is used for pitch recognition as is used for speech. Which raises alot of questions about how as you say, a tone deaf person can hear the difference in pitch of speech, but not music. I've also read that perfect pitch occurs most often with people who began thier musical training before the age of ten - suggests that it is a learned skill? Also is it true that musicicans with absolute pitch often have a larger section of their brain which deals with pitch recognition? Thanks. Conor
