Hello, my teacher "invented" a sort of extension without piercing your scroll. He had made for him an extension wich is non-permanent (so not pierced or glued to anything) but wich simply holds on through the pressure of the strings. As string he uses a thick D-string wich is tuned down to C. The only novelty is to learn to play on D instead of E, wich is easy applicable because of our other D-string. I was just wondering if any other bassist uses this system or wether my teacher is the first to do so.
I also was wondering if apart from the site of JoŽlle Morton and some books like Planyawski's, there are other sites or books or methods of how to learn violone and playing on gut-strings. Anyone?
Thank you very much,
