A familiar problem that has a not so easy answer. I suffer from this as well, and the problem is usually not in the hands, but in the ears. Play a lick, melody, or solo you know really well as fast as you can play it cleanly. By stating that you can walk fast, you make it clear that the problem is not necessarily physical, but probably not being able to hear ideas at that tempo.

: Hi ya'll- how many of you out there are fine walking around 200bpm, but then when your solo comes up, you're thinking of 8th notes, but you just cant bust em out that fast? its frustrating- obviously, i just need to practice my licks increasingly faster... but what else can i do to bone up my right hand? Exercises, books, weights, surgical foreharm enhancement? thanks, schmoo
