The Underwood (and also Fishman) pickup require a very high input impedance to preserve the lows.
If the pickup is loaded the sound is thin and brittle.
I suggest you try a Fishman bass preamp or LR Baggs ParaAcoustic DI, for instance.
They have the necessary input impedance for the piezo pickups.
