Andy is right! Read what others are saying at RockabillyBass.com

: I really DON't recommend an E-Bay bass...I have heard a lot of horror stories...this isn't a baseball card, it's an expensive investment that will hopefully start you on the right path. Don't leave it to chance.

: I play an Engelhardt Swingmaster...it's my first bass. It's set up the way I want it, and as a result, I can't walk by it in the house without touching it. That's the way to start out. you can get a decent Engelhardt-type bass for about $1,200-$1,500 delivered to your door. Spend a bit more and you can get a nicer one. either way, you'll start out on a good footing, with a reputable company and dealer behind your instrument. And it will hold a substantial portion of its value.

: I was like you, and couldn't wait to get a bass...I decided the extra patience was worth it, and I sure am glad that's how I did it. From what I understand, the Strunal is a lovely hybrid, and highly recommended for the new player. If that's what you want, don't settle.
