: Hello. I have a Fishman pickup and an SWR 12" amp (Workingman's 12). It sounds okay, not great; I've generally avoided amplification altogether. Now I'm in a band for which I need to play loud. Is there anything I can do to make the sound less electric and more acoustic without spending a lot of money.

The input impedance of the WM12 is too low for the Fishman BP-100. Get a preamp buffer, like the Fishman B-II or LR Baggs Paracoustic DI to get the full tone of your pickup. (a loaded piezo pickup sounds thin and brittle, uneven)
That's the first step.
Maybe the other will be ok too after that.
HTH!
