1. Although the Fishman can be a good pickup it wouldn't be my first choice for a solid arco sound. As François stated a pre will assist in matching your pickup and amp.....before you spend $$$ on a pre look into other pickups....I am pleased with my arco sound amplified when using the Realist.....If considering a pre check out the Fishman Pro-EQ Platinum Bass....Just got one here a few days ago and I was very impressed

2. What strings and rosin are you using? Also if you have synthetic hair on your bow that can really make things much more difficult.....

Good Luck

: Hello. I have a Fishman pickup and an SWR 12" amp (Workingman's 12). It sounds okay, not great; I've generally avoided amplification altogether. Now I'm in a band for which I need to play loud. Two questions regarding this:

: 1. Is there anything I can do to make the sound less electric and more acoustic without spending a lot of money? On the other hand, I also want to use some effects pedals and maybe an effects processor; in the past, this has caused feedback. What do I need to improve that sound?

: 2. I tried bowing using my current setup, and it sounds awful. What can I do to make it better?

: Thanks in advance.
