: Hi,

: Was wondering if anyone has had any experience, good or bad, with the
: upright basses sold by Lemur. In particular the Sunrise Encinitas model.

: Thanks,

From what I've heard, some "Solid Wood" basses are not carved. They are, rather, made from a 1/8 thick sheet of wood which is steamed, then formed into a swell.

Also, from what I've heard, this doesn't produce the same tone & volume of an actual carved top.

I notice that the Sunrise basses are described as "solid wood", but not as "carved"...
