Picking is extremely hard to master, you've got to have alot of patience.I'm just starting to get the hang of alternate picking. The secret formula is...Time + Patience + metronome = success! There is no shortcut, there is a book called,"Speed Mechanics For Lead Guitar" It's written by a guy named Troy Stetina...This book is awesome,it will show you everything you neeed to know about lead playing.
