: : I see a bunch of people looking for recommendations for a good upright basses and I just wanted to throw in a good word for the maker of my bass, Paris Banchetti. Before I went to Oberlin, I tried out tons of basses before deciding to buy Banchetti's. I've had the bass since 1994 and I couldn't be happier with it. It sounds great bowed and pizz, plays easily, and looks beautiful... I'd also be happy to answer questions about my bass or put you in touch with Paris.

I just purchased a flamenco guitar built by Mr. Banchetti and found to my surprise that he lives in Miami...I arranged to have some minor work done on the instrument and got an opportunity to meet the man....a very enriching experience...He's still building basses and exquisite classical and flamenco guitars...
