I agree with geoff!! The 400+ is THE BOMB. I've owned everything from SVTs on down...and the 400+ is much more toneful and
immediatley useful than anything else I've tried...tube or solid state. The only drawback is that its heavy(or I'm old), but still considerably
lighter than an SVT! My 400+ is a keeper!!!!!

P.S. Hotlicks Guitars in Honolulu has one in excellent condition for $550, they also have a Mesa Shockmount case for $99, so $649 plus shipping(about $80) to mainland USA gets you in the club cheap!!
