: Hey guys! I thought it would be interesting to hear everyone's opinions on Fender P-Basses. You know, the ones all the funk guys used in the 60s and 70s -particularly when the P-bass is strung with flat wounds! The Jass bass is pretty popular because of guys like Jaco and Marcus (and many others too numerous to list) and because it has that great growl to it.

: But, how many of you like the P-bass sound, hate the P-bass sound, play a P-bass, or have compared a P-bass to a Jazz bass?

: Cheers,

: Hi jtm!!!
As I already said on this board, I used to have a middle 80s Fender p bass with a jazz pickup at the bridge. It was interesting because I could get the sound of the original p pass or the sound more close to a jazz bass

I think that the new Fenders P basses with jazz pickup at the bridge are the best of both worlds!!!
