Mark, check it, im 31 last Dec, I have been fooling around w/ bass off and on since like '87, I have done some shows back in the day, but heres the gig. I just picked my bass up last year, with dedication to playing serious, you know really learning the instrument, dude just go out there and do it, develope your own style, remember, music is about expressing yourself, you dont need to know jack (though helpful if you at least know your notes), when I played back then I mearly followed the guitar players changes, then just felt the groove and added to it, remember in most cases its merely your job to keep the bottom end kickin. Dont and I mean dont be intimedated about your age, Im 31 and yea I had FOOLED around with bass, but getting to basics is sometimes hard. I do fancy stuff and all that but keeping time, and the bottom end is what is most important, let your style develop as you play with others.

Peace and chicken grease,
rob
