: If it's a normal strap tie a shoelace around the knob over the strap. If it's a locking strap and the nut keeps falling off get a lock washer (25 cents at any hardware store) should fix the problem either way. I'm trying to have a bass surgically implanted through my abdomen, but have yet to find a doctor with no ethics whose willing to try it....

Another fix, if the wood is striped, and the screw keeps coming out, put a toothpick in the hole, and cut it flush. Reinsert the screw. A dab of elmers can help at the same time, but just a dab.
