If you're looking for something high end or custom, I can't say enough good things about Roscoe basses. I own an LG 6-string fretless, and I'm positive that it is one of the best basses I have ever played, if not the best. I like it so much, I'm gonna be investing in a fretted bass in the same configuration. The 6-string Roscoes are also the choice of top players like Kim Stone and Jimmy Haslip.
They're a little pricy, and you might want to invest in a custom instrument, but it's worth every penny!
I'd also recommend Conklin (VERY pricy), Warwick, Modulus, Pedulla, or Elrick...all of which can make a custom instrument for you. You might want to try a few out before you make your decision though. 6-string basses are always an interesting investment decision.
