Bass Lessons .com - the bass resource.

Adam Nitti is pretty good at it, see if you can find anything by him. I know Scott Hubbel has 2 articles at www.chopsfromhell.com

: : Hi, I head cool sweep picking for the guitar and I'm wondering if it's possible to do this on the bass. Can anyone try to explain how I can do it?

: : Thanks,

: brian - yes, it's possible (i watched a guitarist do it on my tacohma acoustic bass...it's just not fair) but it's not easy to do, much less do well. the idea is that you apeggiate a chord, playing one note on each string. the "sweeping" comes in because the goal is to play through the whole appegiation (i think that's a word) as fast as you can drag your finger (or pick) across the strings, going up the progression as your finger sweeps down, and then the reverse as your finger comes back up. personally, i can't do it. i just hope this is an accurate description to give you an idea of how it works. it is a cool trick, though i don't think of it as particularly useful (right up there with tapping, etc). hope this helped!
