: : : I recently heard that from a friend and I was wondering if you have any information to back-up this rumour. I'm far from a Metallica fan but it's interesting to know these things. But hey, if what I heard was true all you metal guys out there maybe this is your chance to get into the real deal.

: : : Dave Wood

: : For a minute, I thought I stumbled accross the wrong site when I was reading all the musician bashing and "we are better then them anyway" Jazz type talk. Come on guys, Metallica are musicians, Jason was'nt necessarily the best musician in the band and just because he uses a pick does'nt make him any less capable of playing music that pleases an audiance. As for the personal problems...who cares! As for the new bassist....who cares! Well, reasonable or not, that's my 2 cents.......peace.......John
: I have to agree with John. I used to really like these guys, back in the 80's when everyone in my high school was listening to bands that espoused misogynist values while dressing up as women, I found metal, and I found jazz. I agree that Metallica may not hold a candle to the musicianship of a Charles Mingus, a John Coltrane, or (insert great jazz player here) but there music certainly helped me get through a rough decade in popular music! So...I have to respect thier past efforts, though I may not agree with thier present attitudes or necessarily like the current songs. Anyway, Datsgor is right, if you play something that is music you are a musician, like it or hate it. They can work out thier personal problems without our help. Go easy everybody, -B

I agree as well, i am 31 now and I too grew up on metal madness, I have nothing against Jason, and although I had made a comment about his downstroke pick playing, I just find it amazing that one would never try the other,(fingers) it dosnt make him any less of a musician because of his style, dont get me wrong. I personally just think hes always been riding in the backseat with metallica anyways, but its taken him all these years and all these millions later to tire of them and the money , i guess..

Peace and chicken grease..
