: Hey! i was wondering, im kinda short 9th grader (kinda, ha!) anyway, is it real difficult to play bass if you're not tall? and is there a way to get around that or something?

Hey there,
Maybe you think your question is dumb, but it is not. Your size IS an issue if you want to play bass. However, I don't think it should prevent you to play. Tina Weymouth from Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club is a rather small woman, yet she plays long scale instruments with ease (although she started in a short scale instrument).
Perhaps you should try with a short scale instrument at first, but don't feel you can't play just because you're small. I used to have a girlfriend who was barely five feet tall but she could play some mean bass anyway. Buena suerte and keep your basses up front in the mix,
