: : Hey guys...I've come decently far in my playing and I owe a deal of that to this board and everyone that helped me out...thanks. But now a question. What is the best kind of bass strings I should buy? I heard Ernie Ball was rather good....well give me yourt response soon. Thanks.

: Nathan,
: You've gotten some good advice so far, but you didn't really mention what kind of bass you were using, what kind of style you generally play, or anything that would really give a strong idea of what strings would work best for you. If you're looking for a good all-around string, something like the Ernie Ball, D'Addario XL, etc., should work just fine, but if you're looking for a *specific* tone, you might need to do a little bit of experimenting (spendy, unfortunately) to find out what works for you.

: Is there anything in particular that you're looking for out of your bass strings?

: -Bob
Since you mentioned the kind of bass has something to do with string quality,
I have a Ibanez soundgear 400. I'm currently using Dan electro's because of I deal I got at a music store.
However, I can't get that pop that I want when I'm slapping. Any suggestions???
