It might be that becous you now feel like you want to play a lefty-bass becous you have more dexterity in your right hand... Which would be a correct assumption in the beginning.
However, this will change quickly and as you practise this will go away, and it will feel natural to play the "normal" way (if there is such thing).
If you want to be certain you will buy the right bass, it might be a good idea to just borrow a bass from someone (your teacher maybe) and try out a righty and see how it feels after playing a week or two. That way you can tell that if it still feel better with a left... go for the left, if not, go for the right.
: ok, i think i want to start playing the bass guitar, and a lot of the topics here have been helpful with questions i have. that said, i do have one or two unanswered questions, the most important of which is this: do i need a special bass to play left handed or do i just switch around how the bass is strung? i am right handed, but i think i would play left handed...it just seems more comfortable (...by the way, is there any real way to tell which is best for you? ie, playing left or right handed). if i do play left handed, i need to know if i need a special bass. anyway, that is it, and any help is appreciated.
