While in college, I was playing string bass with a string ensemble. The cello player and I got along great and had a great time perfoming with each other. The leader of the ensemble insisted on using some of her students to fill in. They were in their 60's and couldn't read for crap; no timing, out of tune, etc. The leader even had the gaul to stop a number in the middle of the performance to start over because one of her students got lost! The cello player and I quit. We were tired of putting up with babies and with a leader who did not know how to act professional. Sounds like you're in the same boat. If it ain't fun, it's time to bail. Guitar players are everywhere. The chances of finding one that is more down to earth is better than you might think.
Good luck, Dave
