: : Need to cover the Bass part on Lenny Kravitz "Fly Away". I have a new Bass Pod and a Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah. Anybody know how to model the tone or effect of the slap/pop part of this song at the start of the verse?
: DBS,
: I'm not absolutely sure, but if I remember the tune correctly, it sounds to me like it's kind of a combination of a chorus or flange and a wah, but I don't know how they did it on the record.
: Hope that helps!

Bob,
Here's what I did on the slap/pop part. On beat 1 I slurred (slid) from A flat to A with a wah then popped the octave A just a hair before beat 2, then repeated with pattern at the C-G-D for the rest of the changes. I had the treble and mid EQ set about 3/4 and the bass just under half on the Bass Pod. I was in the manual mode using the Eden amp/cab model and no effects. It worked out just fine, thought I'd let you know.
