Dear all,

I switched from elec guitar to elec bass this year, so I can basically play, but don't know any bass-specific techniques. Hope some one can help!

I need to play this line of 16ths in 92bpm. Tuned GDAD. How can I mute the lower string's G (fret 3)?

G --------------------------------
D ----5---3-5---6---3-5-----------
A ------------------------6-5-3-2- ......
D 3-----3-----3---3-----3---------

(In case it doesn't come out right, [3]5[3]35[3]6[3]35[3]6532, with the lower G in brackets.)
(Yes! It's Dream Theater!)

Or maybe this muting question was just stupid and basses simply don't need muting?? I don't know... I've been on guitar for too many years...

Thanks, guys!
