: I need to buy a bass amp for my church, our double bass player is converting to the bass guitar.
: The band line-up is: one (sometimes two) rhythmn acoustic guitars plugged directly into pa desk; miked grand piano; unmiked drums, single miked vocalist; miked double bass about to be replaced by bass guitar. The church is a building which seats about 300.
: I have two questions:
: Will a 150W bass combo be sufficient for this situation?
: Can a miked doubled bass be plugged into a bass amp for a better sound (pa system speakers are too small for decent bass sound)?
: many thanks for any help you could give.

Steve:
150 W combo amp should be plenty big enough for you. What brand of combo are you using? I would not recommend miked double bass into the combo... what kind of electric bass are you getting?
