: I just purchased a yamaha fretless bass and it came with roundwound strings. I've read that these can eat up the fretboard on a fretless and I'm wondering if this is true. If so, any other suggestions for fretless strings?

>>> I use the Rotosound RS-55 "Solo Bass" on my fretless,
The outer wrap wire is "rolled" making the string much
less aggressive on your fingerboard, frets, and fingers;
reducing wear considerably, while still retaining all
the tone of the traditional "Swing Bass" set. Anybody
interested in buying these sets in quantity, contact
me off list for factory direct service and pricing.

Cheers,
Pat Harrington
