: I was thinking of purchasing the Fender Bassman 400 amp. I am going to use it for gigs with my rock band (which plays loud). I want to know whether I should buy the combo, the head with 4x10", or the head with 4x10" and 1x15". If I get both speakers (4x10 and 1x15), is the amp loud enough to get the most out of the speakers [I diddn't know if the speakers could take a lot more watts than the amp can give (which would be wasted speakers)]. What is the best deal (I don't care about size). Thanks a lot! Anyone can answer any or all questions, or just reply. Thanks again.
Jayce, I'd definitely get the separate head just for the versatility factor.
I've played the combo, but didn't really crank it, but it did sound good. As for the volume, you'd really have to try it for yourself with different bottoms, and remember: you don't have to limit yourself to Fender bottoms only.
Just don't go lower than 4 ohms. That head is 350watts @ 4 ohms.
