Is it a good playing/sounding bass? Is it a good price? That's what really matters. Too many people get hung up on where the instrument is made, not on the quality/price. I tried a Mex Jazz and an American Jazz, and bought the Mex because I thought it was better! I also bought a Korean made Fender Strat (in Korea) that is marked "Fender", but is probably the same guitar sold in the US as Squire (made in the same factory). It is a good playing, good sounding guitar and I only paid $100 for it new!
: Some guy tried to sell me this bass which has the serial number MN515786 printed on the headstock so I guess it was produced in '95 or '96. How do I know whether it's a Fender Standard P-bass or Fender Squier Precision Bass? (in mid 90s Squier series did have "Fender" printed on their headstocks -not any mention of "Squier") Btw. volume and tone knobs are plastic and the "Fender" brand is plain black -not silver.
