: ok i have a fender bassman 100 combo which puts out a good 100 watts but I need more power. Can i buy some sort of a splitter cable and then purchase another decent size combo and run my bass though both of the amps? would this sound like crap and am i better off just investing in a stack? if anyone has any idea about this please let me know. thanks dudes.

Bob the bass player is 100% correct. I own a Bassman 60, and that's one of the cool features I noticed when I bought it. If you have a 100watt head with 1x15, you get X volume. If you add another 1x15 cab, you get a little more volume, but mainly a fuller sound. The way Fender set it up means you'll have 2 100watt
heads each pushing it's own 15, which should give you the volume you're after. I haven't tried it with my amp, but, I'd think this set up would be as loud, but cleaner than 1 200watt head into a 2x15 bottom. This was an excellent idea Fender had, mainly because for it to work properly you have to buy another Fender amp. No fools those Fender engineers. If you do it, let us know how it sounds.
