: ok i have a fender bassman 100 combo which puts out a good 100 watts but I need more power. Can i buy some sort of a splitter cable and then purchase another decent size combo and run my bass though both of the amps? would this sound like crap and am i better off just investing in a stack? if anyone has any idea about this please let me know. thanks dudes.
The cool thing about running 2 amps is you can set one up with effects i.e. distortion and still have a clean tone running through your other one, to do this, I recommend an AB-Y splitter box,(Morley makes a great one fairly cheap) that way you can turn one off if you dont need it at the moment. But, that is the only advantage I can think of for having 2 combos as more "power" typically means more power.......
